The story of the Comtes von
Neipperg begins in Stadtteil
Neipperg, in Southern Germany’s
Landkreis Heilbronn, where the
family was making wine as early as
the 12th century. In the 1970s, Count
Stephan von Neipperg and his family
extended its interests to France,
and has since built up a portfolio of
vineyards and estates in Bordeaux,
Bulgaria and South Africa.
The Bordeaux holdings are
Château Guiraud in Sauternes,
which produces one of France’s
most prized sweet white wines;
Château Canon La Gaffelière and
La Mondotte, both of which are
Saint-Émilion Premier Cru Grand Cru
Classé; Clos de L‘Oratoire Saint-Émilion
Grand Cru Classé, and the
neighbouring Grand Cru Château
Peyreau; and the Castillon Côtes
de Bordeaux appellation Château
d’Aiguilhe.
Clos Marsalette in the Pessac-Léognan Bordeaux appellation is jointly owned by Count Stephan von
Neipperg and Didier Miqueu.
This special dinner will see Count
Stephan von Neipperg present
some of the finest red wines from his
Right Bank Bordeaux properties in
Saint-Émilion and Côtes de Castillon,
made according to meticulous
winemaking standards set out by
Stephan von Neipperg himself.
Count Stephan’s winemaking
philosophy is based on respect for
the characteristics of each terroir of
the family’s remarkable vineyards.
Particularly notable will be the wines
from La Mondotte and Château
Canon La Gaffelière.
A special menu has been created
to match the wines, which will also
be offered as takeaway items. Early
bookings are advised.
