The programme for the Barcelona Gourmet and Wine Tour is finalised, with a few surprises in store for those who join us from 12 to 18 June.
Unlike previous wine tours, Members make their own travel arrangements to Barcelona. A representative of the Hong Kong Jockey Club will accompany the tour throughout the week.
On Sunday, 12 June all participants will meet at the five-star Cotton House hotel, one of the newest luxury hotels in Barcelona’s historic centre, where they will be staying during the tour.
During week, Members will dine at Paco Meralgo, one of Barcelona’s liveliest tapas bars; Bodega Torres’ private restaurant, Mas Rabell; Monvinic, famed for its wine collection; the three-Michelinstarred Sant Pau, run by chef Carme Ruscalleda; a private kitchen, El Secreto de la Boqueria; El Celler de l’Aspic; Passadis del Pep, a seafood restaurant near the Barri Gòtic; W Hotel’s Bravo 24, run by Chef Carles Abellán; the two-Michelinstarred Basque restaurant Lasarte; Cal Xim, a favourite with local wine makers; and Céleri, focusing on vegan and vegetarian dishes.
Tours and tastings include the famed Bodega Torres in the Penedes region; the Alvaro Palacios Winery in Priorat; and boutique winery Pere Ventura, renowned for its cava.
On Thursday, 16 June Members will discover the history and architectural landmarks of Barcelona. The tour includes a visit to Sagrada Famillia, a Roman Catholic basilica and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begun by Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí in 1882, the stillunfinished project combines elements of Gothic and Art Nouveau forms.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has carefully curated this tour to allow Members to experience the very best of Barcelona through its food, its wine and its beauty. Those who take the tour will remember it for a lifetime, so make plans for the most memorable wine tour yet. Limited to 16 Members only.
Airfare is not included and Members must make their own travel arrangements to and from Barcelona.
