Beijing Clubhouse Charity Wine Dinner
Perpetually Philanthropic

The Ninth Annual Charity Wine Dinner and Auction continues a grand tradition of giving

The Annual Charity Wine Dinner and Auction is a much-anticipated event at the Beijing Clubhouse. Members will gather together to once again demonstrate their dedication to supporting meaningful causes. It is a philosophy in tune with the winemakers and others who have so generously donated to the auction.

This year will see 20 lots of some of the finest Bordeaux and Burgundy wines and two paintings go under the hammer. Net proceeds from the event will be channeled to the China Association of Social Workers and China Children and Teenagers' Foundation under the Ministry of Civil Affairs, supporting under-privileged children with education, medical and rehabilitation services. This is a cause the Beijing Clubhouse has consistently supported over the years.

Wines include those scoring 100 points from Robert Parker: three jeroboams of 2000 Château Léoville Las-Cases, Saint-Julien and a jeroboam of 2005 Château Smith Haute Lafitte, Pessac Leognan. The Pont des Arts Hommage collection includes 14 bottles of Hommage Zao Wou-ki Limited Edition and a three-bottle collection of Burgundy wines.

Among the guests of honour are Jean-Christophe Gallois, a specialist in Burgundy wines, who once again is sponsoring some of the wines served at the dinner. Other guests include Jean-Bruno Cantorne, the Managing Director of Veyret-Latour in Bordeaux, which deals in the finest wines from the region; Alexis Thierriaz, Asia Area Manager - Chateau Cos d’Estournel; and Arthur de Villepin, the co-founder and CEO of Pont des Arts. The auctioneer for the evening will be Robert Sleigh, Senior Director of Sotheby’s Hong Kong, marking his fourth time presiding over this remarkable philanthropic event.
