A Catering Employee Tested Positive for COVID-19 (Updated 8 August)

The Club was notified by a catering employee working in the Racing Club in late night on 6 August that she was preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. The Club was informed yesterday morning that the concerned staff was officially confirmed infected by Centre for Health Protection.

The concerned employee works at the Hong Kong Kitchen in the Happy Valley Racecourse. She has reported duty for two days on 1 August and 3 August. Prior to that, she had been off-duty for an extended period.

The Club has identified and communicated with employees who have had contact with the infected employee and has arranged testing for them on 7 August. All the test results are negative. In addition, the Club has also identified and communicated with those Members who have visited Hong Kong Kitchen on 1 and 3 August. Although the concerned staff did not have direct contact with any Members on those two days, the Club will cover the cost of the test for the concerned Members should they wish to do it by their own means in the interest of caution.

The Hong Kong Kitchen has been closed and completed thorough cleaning and disinfection along with other public areas. It will not be open before 23 August.
