Preliminary Positive Cases in Clubhouses and Temporary Closure of The Rock in Happy Valley New Clubhouse (issued Tuesday, 16 August)

We have received reports from an employee, four guests and two Members that their COVID-19 tests done on Tuesday, 16 August and Monday, 15 August respectively, had returned positive. As a precautionary measure, The Rock in Happy Valley New Clubhouse will cease operation from today, Tuesday, 16 August to Thursday, 18 August (both dates inclusive).

The employee case in Happy Valley New Clubhouse

The employee concerned is a kitchen staff and was recently on duty in The Rock from 10am – 8:06pm on Saturday, 13 August, Sunday, 14 August and Monday, 15 August. He had taken Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) before reporting for duty on 13, 14, 15 and 16 August and only returned positive on 16 August.

The first Member case in Happy Valley Clubhouse

The first Member concerned recently visited The Parade in Happy Valley New Clubhouse from 1:20pm – 2:18pm on Saturday, 13 August and The Gallop in Happy Valley Old Clubhouse from 7:29pm – 9:24pm on Sunday, 14 August. He conducted Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on 15 August and returned positive.

The second Member case in Happy Valley Clubhouse and Beas River Country Club

The second Member concerned recently visited Happy Valley Clubhouse from 1pm – 3:30pm on Friday, 12 August, Beas River Country Club from 3:33pm – 5:45pm and Happy Valley New Clubhouse from 6:50pm – 7:50pm on Sunday, 14 August. Details are as follows:

On Friday, 12 August:

  • Visited the Hilltop Paddock in Happy Valley Old Clubhouse from 1pm – 1:25pm;
  • Visited Male Changing Room and Valley Pool in Happy Valley New Clubhouse from 1:30pm – 3:30pm.

On Sunday, 14 August:

  • Visited Male Changing Room and Swimming Pool in Beas River Country Club from 3:33pm – 4:40pm;
  • Participated Pony Racing Carnival at the Lawn in Beas River Country Club from 5pm – 5:45pm;
  • Visited The Rock in Happy Valley New Clubhouse from 6:50pm – 7:50pm.

He had taken Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on 14 August with negative result and only returned positive in his Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and PCR Test conducted on 15 August.

The guest cases in Sha Tin Clubhouse

The four guests concerned recently joined an event in the Double Haven from 6pm – 11:30pm on Saturday, 13 August. They take Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) on daily basis and only returned positive on 16 August.

While deep cleansing to the affected venues has been carried out, we advise Members who visited The Rock, The Parade, Male Changing Room, Valley Pool in Happy Valley New Clubhouse, the Hilltop Paddock, The Gallop in Happy Valley Old Clubhouse, Male Changing Room, Swimming Pool, The Lawn in Beas River Country Club and the Double Haven in Sha Tin Clubhouse on the aforesaid dates to go for testing if they are concerned about their health.
