Preliminary Positive Cases and Temporary Closure of Trio in Happy Valley New Clubhouse and The Ladies’ Purse in Sha Tin Clubhouse (issued Sunday, 21 August)

We have received reports from three employees, two Members and a guest that their COVID-19 tests done on Saturday, 20 August and Sunday, 21 August respectively, had returned positive. As a precautionary measure, the following restaurants will be temporarily closed:

  • Trio in Happy Valley New Clubhouse will cease operation from today, Sunday, 21 August to Wednesday, 24 August (both dates inclusive);
  • The Ladies’ Purse in Sha Tin Clubhouse will extend the closure until tomorrow, Monday, 22 August and reopen on Tuesday, 23 August.

Members who have bookings in Trio will be contacted for alternative arrangements.

The employee case in Happy Valley New Clubhouse

The employee concerned is a kitchen staff and was recently on duty in the Trio on Thursday, 18 August, Friday, 19 August and Saturday, 20 August. He had taken Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) before reporting for duty on 18, 19, 20 and 21 August and only returned positive on 21 August.

The first employee case in Sha Tin Clubhouse

The first employee concerned is a kitchen staff and was recently on duty in The Ladies’ Purse on Friday, 19 August. He had taken Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before reporting for duty on 19 August with negative result. He had taken PCR tests on 19 and 21 August and only returned positive on 21 August.

The second employee case in Sha Tin Clubhouse

The second employee concerned was recently on duty in Sha Tin Clubhouse on Thursday, 18 August. She performed her duties at back of house and did not come into contact with any Members or guests. She had taken Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) on 16, 17 and 18 August with negative results. Her PCR Test conducted on 20 August has returned positive today.

The Member case in Happy Valley New Clubhouse and Sha Tin Clubhouse

The Member concerned recently visited Happy Valley New Clubhouse and Sha Tin Clubhouse on Thursday, 18 August and Wednesday, 17 August. Details are as follows:

  • Wednesday, 17 August in Sha Tin Clubhouse:
    • Visited the Male Changing Room from 10:03am – 10:14am;
    • Visited the Gym from 10:14am – 10:57am;
    • Visited the Male Changing Room from 10:57am – 11:22am;
    • Visited The Ladies Purse from 11:25am – 12:19noon.
  • Thursday, 18 August in Happy Valley New Clubhouse:
    • Visited the 2/F Male Changing Room from 9:35am – 9:41am;
    • Visited the Valley Pool from 9:41am – 10:17am;
    • Visited the 2/F Male Changing Room from 10:17am – 10:44am.

He conducted Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) before his visits on 17 and 18 August with negative results. His PCR Test conducted on 19 August has returned positive on 20 August.

The Member case in Happy Valley Clubhouse and Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday)

The Member concerned recently visited the Trio in Happy Valley New Clubhouse from 12:52noon – 2:10pm on Thursday, 18 August, the Reading Room in Happy Valley Old Clubhouse from 11:35am – 12:44noon and the Trio in Happy Valley New Clubhouse from 12:51noon – 1:56pm on Friday, 19 August and the Moon Koon Restaurant in Happy Valley Racecourse from 10:40am – 12:30noon on Saturday, 20 August. He conducted Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on 19, 20 and 21 August and only returned positive on 21 August.

The guest case in Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday)

The guest concerned recently visited the Moon Koon Restaurant from 7pm – 9pm on Saturday, 20 August. He takes Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) on daily basis and only returned positive in the late evening on 20 August.

While deep cleansing to the affected venues has been carried out, we advise Members who visited the Trio, Male Changing Room, Valley Pool in Happy Valley New Clubhouse, the Reading Room in Happy Valley Old Clubhouse, the Male Changing Room, the Gym and The Ladies’ Purse in Sha Tin Clubhouse and the Moon Koon Restaurant in Happy Valley Racecourse on the aforesaid dates to go for testing if they are concerned about their health.
