Preliminary Positive Cases in Happy Valley Clubhouse and Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday) and Temporary Closure of the Moon Koon Restaurant (issued Tuesday, 23 August)

We have received reports from an employee and three Members that their COVID-19 tests done on Tuesday, 23 August and Sunday, 21 August respectively, had returned positive. As a precautionary measure, the Moon Koon Restaurant in Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday) will cease operation tonight, Tuesday, 23 August and will reopen tomorrow Wednesday, 24 August. Members who have bookings in the Moon Koon Restaurant will be contacted for alternative arrangements.

The employee case in Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday)

The employee concerned is a servicing staff and was recently on duty in the Moon Koon Restaurant on Saturday, 20 August. He had taken Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before reporting for duty on 20 August with negative result and his Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted on 23 August returned positive.

The Member case in Happy Valley Clubhouse

The Member concerned recently visited the Family Changing Room and the Valley Pool in Happy Valley New Clubhouse from 5:45pm – 7:32pm, the Hilltop Paddock in Happy Valley Old Clubhouse from 7:36pm – 8:31pm on Friday, 19 August and Tennis Court number 8 in the Sports Complex from 7:52am – 9:09am on Saturday, 20 August. He conducted Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) on 19, 20 and 21 August and only returned positive on 21 August.

The Member case in Happy Valley New Clubhouse

The Member concerned recently visited the Parade from 1:50pm – 3pm on Sunday, 21 August. He conducted Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before his visit on 21 August with negative result. His PCR Test conducted in the evening on 21 August had returned positive on 22 August.

The Member case in Happy Valley Clubhouse Sports Complex and Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday)

The Member concerned recently visited the Moon Koon Restaurant in Happy Valley Racecourse from 7pm – 9pm on Saturday, 20 August, Tennis Court number 6 and Male Changing Room in the Sports Complex from 3:40pm – 7:15pm on Sunday, 21 August and Tennis Courts number 6-8 and Male Changing Room in Sports Complex from 8:43pm – 10:46pm on Monday, 22 August. He conducted Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) on 20, 22 and 23 August and only returned positive on 23 August.

While deep cleansing to the affected venues has been carried out, we advise Members who visited the Family Changing Room, the Valley Pool, the Parade in Happy Valley New Clubhouse, the Hilltop Paddock in Happy Valley Old Clubhouse, Tennis Courts and Male Changing Room in Sports Complex and the Moon Koon Restaurant in Happy Valley Racecourse on the aforesaid dates to go for testing if they are concerned about their health.
