EV Charging Network Enhancement and Implementation of Fee (issued Thursday, 1 February)

The Club has been enhancing its EV charging network in response to Members' increasing demand. We are glad to inform Members that all EV chargers will be upgraded to rapid chargers (up to 24 kW) which can be activated by simply tapping the Membership card. The final part of this upgrade is at Jockey Club Headquarters and Beas River Country Club during February, bringing the total number of rapid EV chargers in Clubhouses, Sha Tin Racecourse and Jockey Club Headquarters’ car parks to 92.

Furthermore, effective from Friday, 1 March 2024, a “pay-per-use” fee will be applied for utilizing EV charging facilities. The fee is set to recover electricity and other related costs to align with market practice. The fee will be $30 per 30-minute interval, up to a maximum of three hours. The EV charging service will remain on a first-come-first-served basis, with queuing if needed. An electronic receipt will be sent to Members within 24 hours after usage.

EV charging service during on-course race meetings in Sha Tin Racecourse Multi-level Car Park (STRC MLCP), Sha Tin Clubhouse and Jockey Club Headquarters Car Park (JCHQ) will remain unchanged. That is, charging service will remain free-of-charge in the STRC MLCP and Sha Tin Clubhouse during Sha Tin Race Meetings, while JCHQ charging service will not be available for use during Happy Valley Race Meetings to better utilize parking lots.
