Please read the following Terms and Conditions* before using the Racing Book Lending Service ("RBLS") offered by The Hong Kong Racing Museum (the "Museum").
Borrowing Rights
- All Members of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, their spouses and children aged 18 or above, each of whom holds his/her own valid Membership Card, may borrow books from the RBLS.
- Each aforementioned cardholder may borrow a maximum of two (2) books for a period of 30 days upon presentation of his/her valid Membership Card.
- Each aforementioned Member must visit the Museum in person and present his/her valid Membership Card to borrow book(s).
Renewal
- Each book may be renewed once for a period of 15 days on or before the original due date.
Return / Overdue
- Borrowers who fail to return any borrowed book to the Museum on or before the due date will be subject to a fine at the rate of HK$5 per book per day. Fines will be accumulated up to a maximum of HK$500 for each borrowed book
- All fines payable will be debited from the Borrower's Membership account without prior notice.
Borrowers' Responsibilities
- Borrowers are responsible for returning any and all borrowed books in good and undamaged condition to the Museum on or before the due date.
- Unless a Member has reported the loss of his/her Membership Card to The Hong Kong Jockey Club in writing, he/she shall be held responsible for any books borrowed under his/her Membership Card.
- Copyright law should be strictly observed by all Borrowers before making copies of any borrowed book(s).
Loss or Damage of Book
- Borrowers are responsible for any loss or damage to each borrowed book and shall be liable to pay a fine of HK$500 for the repair or replacement cost of each book.
- If a Borrower subsequently finds the lost book and returns it in good condition, the fine of HK$500 for the lost book will be refunded to the Borrower by crediting his/her Membership account, but the Borrower shall remain liable to pay the overdue fines calculated up to the date when the book is returned to the Museum.
General
- These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time by the Museum without any prior notice.
- The decision of The Hong Kong Jockey Club shall be final.
*In case of dispute or inconsistencies between the English and Chinese version of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
