FREEMARK ABBEY WINE DINNER
A Napa Valley Original

California’s Napa Valley, and the Rutherford American Viticultural Area (AVA) in particular, are renowned for making some of the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Among the foremost producers, established in 1886 and now owned by Jackson Family Fine Wines, is the legendary Freemark Abbey.

At this special dinner, guest of honour Michael Jordan, Director of Global Key Accounts for Jackson Family Fine Wines and one of only 15 people worldwide to hold both a Master Sommelier diploma from the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Certified Wine Educator diploma from the Society of Wine Educators, will present five of Freemark Abbey's signature Cabernet Sauvignons and one Merlot. The winery's Viognier will be served at the pre-dinner welcome reception.

Freemark Abbey is acclaimed for its Rutherford single vineyard Cabernet Bosché and Sycamore Vineyard wines made by the legendary Ted Edwards who has been Freemark Abbey’s winemaker since 1985, and both will be tasted.

Members will compare the 2007 Cabernet Bosché with its concentration of cassis, dark chocolate and oak spices to the 2002 Sycamore Vineyard, showing perfumed savoury notes, developed dark fruit and mushroom bouquet.

This is an excellent opportunity to taste some of California’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines, presented by a respected authority and popular public speaker. Early reservations are advised.
