  Elegant

  • Blazers/suit jackets over shirts, with a standard neck tie or bow tie, long trousers and closed-toe shoes are required for gentlemen
  • Dresses, blouses with skirts or long trousers
  • Ties are optional from May to October

  Unacceptable Attire

  • Blue denim or ripped clothing, T-shirts, turtlenecks*, tracksuits, singlets², cravats, shorts³, overalls, sports shoes, slides, slippers, flip-flops and plastic footwear

  *Except during cold weather signal

  Remarks:

  1. T-shirts with image, graphic or text
  2. Singlets include sleeveless T-shirts
  3. Ladies may wear dressy shorts of an appropriate length
  4. Overcoats or Trench Coats over the eligible dress code are acceptable during winter. During a Cold Weather Warning announced by HK Observatory, Down Jackets or Min Ou are also acceptable
  5. Bra-style tops, bralettes or dresses and tops with visible midriffs (defined as the mid-region of the torso between the chest and the waist) are not permitted
  6. Kindly refrain from clothing with offensive text, image or graphics that promote discrimination, violence, or any form of harassment, as well as fancy dress and novelty clothing
  7. Members are expected to dress in a manner that reflects the dignity of the Members’ Enclosure
  8. The Hong Kong Jockey Club reserves the right to make the final determination regarding the appropriateness of attire and admission to Members’ Enclosure venues
