Update on Vaccine Bubble Type C Readiness and Formal Opening of The Eighth (issued Friday, 18 June)

Further to our Notice last week dated 10 June, we are pleased to inform Members that our staff have responded positively to the Club’s efforts at accelerating the vaccination rate. Thanks to their support, we are now in a position to move the majority of our dining outlets to the Vaccine Bubble Type C operating mode according to the respective timelines as follows:

Happy Valley Old & New Clubhouse

  • 28 June: The Gallop, Snack Bar
  • 15 July: Trio, Fortune Room

Sha Tin Clubhouse

  • 1 July: Centurion, Bistro Canter, Oi Suen, The Ladies’ Purse

Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-Raceday)

  • 28 June: Moon Koon
  • 2 July: Provincial, The Chalk

In parallel, we are delighted to announce the much anticipated formal opening of The Eighth at the Happy Valley New Clubhouse on 15 July. Reservations taking for Members will commence at 12 noon, Friday, 25 June.

The entire floor will operate in Type C mode, under which the following measures will be observed:

  • Maximum of 6 guests per table
  • Operate at 50% of licenced capacity
  • No seating at the bar counters
  • No food and beverage consumption while playing games
  • The floor will open at 5:00pm on Wednesdays to Fridays and 12:00 noon on weekends; it will close at midnight daily and tables will be cleared at 11:45pm
