Close Contact Case and Impact to Operation at Gallop Restaurant / Club Operations Being Affected by the Ongoing External Pandemic Situation (issued Monday, 7 February)

We would like to inform Members that an employee who was on duty at The Gallop restaurant of the Happy Valley Old Clubhouse last week on 5 February has today been identified as a close contact of a positive case of COVID-19.

Given the current extremely challenging COVID situation in Hong Kong, the Club adopts an extra cautious approach to protect its Members, employees and customers. The Gallop restaurant will be closed from Tuesday, 8 February, until further notice. Deep cleaning and sanitation works will be carried out. In addition, the Club has identified those employees who have worked in the outlet on the aforesaid date and arranged for them to take COVID-19 tests. They will not report for duty until negative results are returned. Although the employee did not come into contact with any Members; we advise Members and guests who dined at the outlet during the same date to go for testings if they have concerns about their health.

Taking this opportunity, we would like to remind Members that the significant increase in the local transmissions of COVID-19 cases may adversely affect our Clubhouse operation as some of our employees may reside in the affected districts. As a precautionary measure, our employees concerned will not be rostered for work. Our Clubhouses will endeavour to operate normally where possible but given the volatility of the situation, some of our dining outlets may only be able to provide limited services and food selection and if severely affected, may need to cease operation at short notice.

We will continue to provide updates and we recommend that Members refer to the website or Mobile App for the latest information.
