Preliminary Positive Cases at Happy Valley Old Clubhouse and Sports Complex / Closure of Derby Restaurant / Recommencement of The Rock’s Operation in Happy Valley New Clubhouse (issued Wednesday, 15 June)

We would like to inform Members that we have received reports from two Members yesterday evening and this morning that their COVID-19 PCR Tests done on Monday, 13 June and Tuesday, 14 June respectively, have returned positive. As a precautionary measure, The Derby Restaurant will close temporarily with effect from today, Wednesday, 15 June to Friday, 17 June (both dates inclusive).

The first Member concerned recently visited Happy Valley Clubhouse Sports Complex and played tennis in court number 4 from 8:53pm – 11:18pm on Saturday, 11 June. During the time, he visited the tennis court only and without using the Changing Room or other facilities in the Sports Complex. He had also visited Happy Valley Old Clubhouse Derby Restaurant from 12:02pm – 2:23pm on Sunday, 12 June.

The second Member concerned last visited Happy Valley Old Clubhouse Derby Restaurant from 12:31pm – 1:49pm on Sunday, 12 June.

Members who were in close proximity with the two Members concerned on 11 – 12 June and Members who dined in The Derby Restaurant during lunch on 12 June will be contacted by our Clubhouse team. We advise Members who visited the Sports Complex and The Derby Restaurant on the aforesaid dates to go for testing if they are concerned about their health.

On a separate note, we are pleased to inform Members that all the other employees who came into contact with the employee at The Rock who is a preliminary positive COVID-19 case (as reported on Sunday, 12 June), have all returned negative results further to the completion of their PCR tests. Hence, we will recommence the operation of The Rock in Happy Valley New Clubhouse with effect from tomorrow, Thursday, 16 June.

In view of the recent increasing trend of the number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong, Members are kindly reminded to refrain from visiting Club facilities if they experience common symptoms of COVID-19 or fall within one of the conditions stated in the Conditions of Entry which can be found <here>. We count on your understanding and cooperation to better protect the health and safety of all our Members and staff.

The deep cleansing to the above-mentioned facilities have been carried out. Clubhouse staff who had direct contact with the two Members on 11 – 12 June and all The Derby Restaurant staff will be arranged for the PCR test and undergo self-isolation. They will not be arranged for duty until negative results are returned.
