Preliminary Positive Employee Case and Closure of Children’s Play Zone at Sha Tin Clubhouse (issued Sunday, 3 July)

We have received a report from an employee that his COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) done before reporting for duty today, Sunday, 3 July, has returned positive. As a precautionary measure, The Children’s Play Zone in Sha Tin Clubhouse will cease operation with immediate effect from today, Sunday, 3 July. The Reception Counter on 2/F will be relocated to 1/F for Members visiting Gym and Massage Rooms.

The employee concerned was recently on duty in 2/F Reception Counter at Sha Tin Clubhouse from 5:30pm – 10pm on Saturday, 2 July. He worked at the reception counter and patrolled in the Children’s Play Zone with mask on at all times. He had taken Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before reporting for duty on 2 July with negative result.

The deep cleansing to the facility has been carried out. We advise Members who visited the Children’s Play Zone and 2/F Reception Counter at Sha Tin Clubhouse on the aforesaid date to go for testing if they are concerned about their health. We will further apprise Members about the reopening date.
