Employee Preliminary Positive Cases and Temporary Closure of the Provincial in Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday), 6/F in Happy Valley New Clubhouse and The Ladies’ Purse in Sha Tin Clubhouse (issued Friday, 19 August)

We have received reports from three employees that their COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) done on Thursday, 18 August and Friday, 19 August respectively, had returned positive. As a precautionary measure, the following restaurants will be temporarily closed:

  • The Provincial in Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday) will cease operation today, Friday, 19 August and resume tomorrow Saturday, 20 August.
  • 6/F in Happy Valley New Clubhouse (including The Parade, The Ring, Sprinkles and Epicurean) will cease operation today, Friday, 19 August and tomorrow Saturday, 20 August.
  • The Teppanyaki Isshō in Happy Valley New Clubhouse will cease operation starting from today, Friday, 19 August, until further notice.
  • The Ladies’ Purse in Sha Tin Clubhouse will cease operation from today, Friday, 19 August to Sunday, 21 August (both dates inclusive).

Members who have bookings in the affected restaurants will be contacted for alternative arrangements.

The employee case in Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday)

The employee concerned was recently on duty in the Provincial on Tuesday, 16 August. She had taken Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before reporting for duty on 16 August with negative result and only returned positive on 18 August.

The employee case in Happy Valley New Clubhouse

The employee concerned is a kitchen staff and was recently on duty in The Parade on Wednesday, 17 August. He had taken Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) before reporting for duty on 17 and 19 August and only returned positive on 19 August.

Teppanyaki Isshō in Happy Valley New Clubhouse

Three employees’ respective family members are tested positive and being identified as close contact cases. They are currently under self-quarantine and will not report for duty until negative results are returned. We will further apprise Members about the reopening date.

The employee case in Sha Tin Clubhouse

The employee concerned is a kitchen staff and was recently on duty in The Ladies’ Purse on Thursday, 18 August. He had taken Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) before reporting for duty on 16, 17, 18 and 19 August and only returned positive on 19 August.

While deep cleansing to the affected venues has been carried out, we advise Members who visited the Provincial in Happy Valley Racecourse, The Parade in Happy Valley New Clubhouse and The Ladies’ Purse in Sha Tin Clubhouse on the aforesaid dates to go for testing if they are concerned about their health.
