Update on Covid-19 Protocols (issued Friday, 2 September)

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Club has diligently implemented a range of measures to protect the health and safety of our Members, customers and employees.

Currently we require daily RAT testing of all employees before they report for duty and request Members and their guests to conduct RAT tests before they access Club facilities. We report all positive cases daily and enforce extensive contact tracing and close contact isolation protocols, including the temporary closure of any venue that has a positive staff case in order to mitigate against chain of transmission. We believe these measures are amongst the most rigorous in Hong Kong. With almost 30,000 Members and guests being served each week across our venues, we have been able to maintain the safest possible environment for all with significantly lower infection rates than the community as a whole.

The Club continuously reevaluates this approach based on the prevailing situation in Hong Kong and scientific data. In light of the evolving situation across the city and to minimize disruption to Members, we will no longer systematically close venues due to a positive staff case, whilst maintaining the rigorous testing and contact tracing measures. Our intention is to now maintain regular operations of all venues unless there are serious circumstances that would create high public health risk to our Members and employees. We are confident we will continue to provide Members one of the safest environments for dining and entertainment in Hong Kong.

We have endeavoured to maintain transparency with timely SMS and email notifications. However, we have noted Members’ subsequent feedback about the high volume of such notifications. As such, effective tomorrow, Saturday, 3 September, we will cease such notifications except in circumstances of disruption to normal services such as the closure of Derby Restaurant yesterday. All reported cases for employees, Members and guests will still be updated daily on the Membership website and App for all to refer to as needed.
