Update on i) Mask Wearing Requirement in Gyms & ii) Operation Mode at Derby Restaurant and Trio (issued Friday, 29 October)

i) Members will be pleased to note that mask wearing is no longer mandatory while exercising in fitness centres; in line with the most recent announcement by the government. Accordingly, the Gyms at Happy Valley New Clubhouse and Sha Tin Clubhouse will introduce mask-free sessions with effect from Monday, 1 November.

The details are as follows:

Happy Valley New Clubhouse Valley Gym

  • Mask-free period:  6:00am – 10:00am and 6:01pm – 10:00pm
  • Mask-on period:  10:01am – 6:00pm
  • For Mask-free and Mask-on Group Classes schedule, please check with our staff at Gym reception

Sha Tin Clubhouse Gym

  • Mask-free period:  7:00am – 10:00am and 6:01pm – 10:00pm
  • Mask-on period:  10:01am – 6:00pm

For mask-free period, Members and their guests are reminded that they should:

  • Have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, plus an interval of 14 days after the second dose. If the vaccination was done outside of Hong Kong, he / she must make a declaration using a specified form prescribed by the government;
  • Present the QR Code of their vaccination records for verification before entry;
  • Scan the “LeaveHomeSafe” (“LHS”) QR Code for the Gym using the LHS mobile App;
  • Put on masks in the Changing Room except during showering

ii) Further, in order to provide additional seating capacity and to meet Members’ demand, The Derby Restaurant and Trio in Happy Valley Old and New Clubhouse respectively will operate under the Vaccine Bubble’s Type D mode with effect from Wednesday, 1 December. Members may start making reservations on Monday, 1 November.

The details are as follows:

  • The Derby Restaurant – Type D operation on all days
  • Trio – Type D operation on weekdays; Type C and D dual zone operation on weekends and public holidays
