Renovation of Members Main Entrance in Sha Tin Racecourse (issued Friday, 2 February)
Grand New Arrival Experience
To further enhance the arrival experience for Members and guests at the Sha Tin Racecourse, the current Members Main Entrance (MME) will undergo renovation starting from late February 2024. The renovation will include a new iconic canopy standing in front of the Grandstand, allowing for a private car drop-off area under a weather-proof environment.
The pick-up / drop-off area will also be expanded, featuring 3 traffic lanes that will offer a total of 21 covered stopping spaces with increased headroom. Pedestrian pavement will be placed on both sides of the 3 lane driveway with ample island spaces to ensure safe boarding and alighting for passengers on both sides. Guests will also enjoy a seamless arrival experience when accessing the Racecourse through the new entrance lobby.
Inside the new entrance lobby, Members and guests will be welcomed by a spacious, two-storey height area that connects them to the Grandstand's first floor via 3 escalators centrally located in the lobby. 2 additional lifts will also be provided on both sides of the lobby for those requiring barrier-free access to the first floor and Jockey Club Box.
The renovation work for the new Members Main Entrance will commence in late February 2024, and is anticipated to be in operation in November 2025.
Temporary Pick-up / Drop-off Arrangement during the Renovation
To facilitate the grand new arrival experience, the existing Members Main Entrance and Members’ private car drop-off area will be closed on Monday, 26 February 2024 for the above renovation work. During the renovation period, both Members and guests’ private car and taxi pick-up / drop-off will be relocated to the Members Taxi Stand at Level 1 of P1 (Multi-Level Carpark, MLCP) starting on Sunday, 3 March 2024. The current taxi waiting area will be relocated to the right-most traffic lane, and the left-most and centre lane will be for private car use.
The Members Taxi Stand is accessible via the vehicular ramp of MLCP near the Sha Tin Racecourse (STRC) Entrance. For vehicles coming from the South (Hong Kong / Kowloon / NT West), vehicles can access the ramp directly after entering via the overpass and passing through the traffic light. For vehicles coming from the North (Tai Po / NT North), vehicles are required to loop around MLCP when going up the ramp.

Additional signage and staff will be deployed on-site to assist Members and guests during arrival and departure periods.
New Access Road to Sha Tin Clubhouse
In addition to the closure of MME, the entrance to Sha Tin Clubhouse (STCH) will also be altered. The access road will be shifted closer to the STRC Main Entrance and Members should follow the road signage to take the left turn to STCH immediately after the pedestrian crossing which links STCH and the MLCP.
Under this new access arrangement, Members parking at STCH Indoor Carpark will need to turn right immediately after the new access road. Vehicles for Members and guests pick-up / drop-off at STCH Main Entrance will remain unchanged with a left turn from the new access road.
The current route for leaving STCH remains unchanged.
