As the Hong Kong Observatory has announced that Typhoon 8 will be hoisted at 6:20pm today, all Clubhouse facilities will close their access to Members and guests from 5:30pm onwards. All Clubhouse facilities and Happy Valley Racecourse (Non-raceday) restaurants will remain closed when Typhoon 8 signal is in force. They will reopen within 2 hours if the signal is lowered within their normal operating hours with no “extreme condition” announced by the government. We are pleased to let Members know that an enhancement of EV Charging Billing Process will be effective from Thursday, 27 June, 2024. Members will receive an electronic receipt upon completing and stopping an EV charging session, rather than receiving the receipt within 24 hours after usage currently. The enhancement will provide Members with more immediate access to the receipt information to track their charging usage.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club would like to update Members that as a result of Television Broadcasts Limited’s (TVB) new channels arrangement approved by the Communications Authority, with effect from 22 April 2024, TVB Finance, Sports and Information Channel (“FSI”) (Channel 85) will cease operation and all racing programmes and Mark Six draws currently aired on FSI (Channel 85) will be broadcast on Channel 82 (to be renamed as TVB Plus). The horse racing live programme Trackside will continue to provide Nicam services.
The Government's regulations on disposable plastic tableware and various other plastic items will take effect starting from 22 April 2024. To comply with the statutory requirements, our venues will no longer provide certain single-use plastic items to customers. Further to the exciting news shared in November about the transformation of the Beas River Country Club, we would like to remind Members that the renovation of the Members' Changing Rooms will begin soon. In reference to the previous announcement dated 2 February 2024 regarding the renovation aimed at elevating Members’ arrival experience at Sha Tin Racecourse (refer to here), the pick-up and drop-off points for Members’ coach services will be temporarily relocated to the Layby next to Car Park Entrance of P1 Sha Tin Racecourse Multi-Level Car Park. This change will take effect from the race meeting on Sunday, 3 March 2024. The renovation is expected to be completed by November 2025. Further to the sharing of the exciting news in December about the transformation in Sha Tin Clubhouse, we would like to remind Members that the renovation at the 2/F will begin soon. Please note that The Ladies’ Purse and Recreation Venues (The Gym, Play Zones, Billiard, Basketball Court and Massage Service) will be suspended for renovation starting from Thursday, 22 February 2024 and only Ladies’ Purse and the Gym will resume operation on Sunday, 25 February 2024 on other floors, while Double Haven 1 will continue to operate as a betting venue on Race days.
To further enhance the arrival experience for Members and guests at the Sha Tin Racecourse, the current Members Main Entrance (MME) will undergo renovation starting from late February 2024. The renovation will include a new iconic canopy standing in front of the Grandstand, allowing for a private car drop-off area under a weather-proof environment.
The Club has been enhancing its EV charging network in response to Members' increasing demand. We are glad to inform Members that all EV chargers will be upgraded to rapid chargers (up to 24 kW) which can be activated by simply tapping the Membership card. The final part of this upgrade is at Jockey Club Headquarters and Beas River Country Club during February, bringing the total number of rapid EV chargers in Clubhouses, Sha Tin Racecourse and Jockey Club Headquarters’ car parks to 92.

To facilitate the opening of Hilltop Lounge at the Happy Valley Old Clubhouse, the Hilltop Paddock will temporarily close on Wednesday & Thursday, 18 & 19 January to facilitate the readiness of the area for Members. The Six Furlong will continue to operate as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The Stewards have recently approved the amendments to the “Ownership Bye-laws” and the “Horse Ballot Bye-laws”, to align with the increased limit on the number of horses an Owner may own at the same time, and the number of Syndicates a Member may join at the same time under the recently amended Rules of Racing and Instructions. A number of housekeeping changes have also been made to the Bye-laws, aligning them with the prevailing terms and conditions as set out in the ownership-related and horse ballot application forms. The Ownership Bye-laws have also been updated to introduce the revamped Trainer Syndicate arrangement.

Following the Government’s announcement on the memorial service for the late Former President of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Jiang Zemin, which will be held solemnly at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing at 10am on Tuesday, 6 December 2022, the Club will mourn with the community together to express our deep condolences to the late President Jiang.

They will reopen within 2 hours if the signal is lowered within their normal operating hours with no “extreme condition” announced by the government. Further to our notice issued yesterday, Friday, 24 June on the temporary closure of the Happy Valley Clubhouse; we would like to update Members on our findings of the movements of the positive Member and employee cases.
The Club has implemented daily testing for all employees on duty in the Clubhouses and Racecourses as a proactive and preventive approach to addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

We would like to inform Members that we have today received a report that a kitchen employee who works at the Six Furlong in Happy Valley Clubhouse has been tested positive after taking the Rapid Antigen test at home. He has been arranged to take further testing in hospital.
We would like to inform Members that the external pandemic situation continues to adversely affect our Clubhouse operation. Due to staff rostering issues, we regret we are unable to operate the Six Furlong and Hilltop Paddock today and they will remain closed tomorrow.

From 3 February until further notice, the 13 Chalets at Block B will be blocked for Racing department’s employees who are responsible for the cross-border horse movements. This is necessary to ensure that these employees avoid any contact with the general public arising from the stricter protocol imposed by the Guangzhou authorities on those whose duties involve regular cross-border movement.
As a gentle reminder, the Club as a public body is obliged to observe Section 2(1) of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance concerning the giving or acceptance of gifts, rewards, cash tips or other advantages. Unless given or accepted with the approval of the Club, such gifts could give rise to criminal or disciplinary proceedings against the Club employee, guest or Member.
We would like to inform Members that an employee who was on duty at the Fortune Room of the Happy Valley Old Clubhouse last week on 17 January has today been identified by the government as a close contact of a preliminary positive case of COVID-19 who is a household member.
The Government has extended the current COVID-19 measures until Thursday, 3 February. We fully understand that Members would welcome more opportunities to dine with their families and therefore, will be extending the operating hours for lunch dine-in service to 6pm in the following restaurants from Monday, 31 January to Thursday, 3 February for the Chinese New Year holidays.
The Club has further revised its Conditions of Entry to Club Premises giving due consideration to the current COVID-19 situation in Hong Kong. Members attention are drawn particularly to Note No.3 which explains the condition to be observed in respect of persons who have been issued with a Compulsory Testing Notice by the government under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulation (Cap. 599J).
The Club was informed last night (10 January 2022) by the Centre for Health Protection that three people who tested preliminary positive of COVID-19 have visited The Millions on 3/F of Happy Valley Stand in Happy Valley Racecourse on 1 January 2022.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club (The Club) was informed by a Member shortly after midday today that an attendee at the race meeting held at Happy Valley Racecourse on 5 January, 2022 has tested preliminary positive of COVID-19. This information has been confirmed by the Center for Health Protection in its press conference this afternoon.
Following the latest government announcement issued on Wednesday, 5 January 2022, new social distancing measures will take effect from Friday, 7 January to Thursday, 20 January 2022.

We are pleased to inform Members that the table cancellation function in the Mobile App has been further enhanced. The system upgrade will be performed between 11:00am – 12:00pm on Friday, 26 November. The Mobile App will not be available for use during this hour.
We are pleased to inform Members the Club’s restaurants will be further increasing their capacities by gradually moving to the Vaccine Bubble’s Type D operation mode starting December to meet the demand from Members. We would like to remind Members and their guests that the wearing of face masks is a mandatory requirement at all times when using Club facilities except when eating or drinking at the table in a catering premises, showering or in other specific circumstances as permitted by the law. In particular, face masks must be worn when moving away from the table in a catering premises or when taking photographs.
Members are kindly reminded that they and their guests should refrain from using Club facilities if they are subject to testing under a compulsory testing notice issued by the government and have not received a negative result.
i) Members will be pleased to note that mask wearing is no longer mandatory while exercising in fitness centres; in line with the most recent announcement by the government. Accordingly, the Gyms at Happy Valley New Clubhouse and Sha Tin Clubhouse will introduce mask-free sessions with effect from Monday, 1 November.
Our Clubhouse facilities and Happy Valley Racecourse non-raceday restaurants are closed as Typhoon 8 signal is in force. They will reopen within 2 hours when the signal is lowered and no “extreme condition” is announced by the government. *All facilities will remain closed for the day if the Typhoon 8 signal or “extreme condition” remains in force by 5pm. *The non-raceday restaurants at Happy Valley Racecourse will remain closed for the night even if the signal is lowered before 5pm as the race meeting is cancelled.

Members are kindly reminded that in accordance with the current government regulation, GN250 Cap 599F pertaining to the operation of Fitness Centres, users must put on face masks at all times within the gym premises except when having a shower. Therefore, there should be no consumption of food and beverage when inside the gym. We recommend that Members bring their own water bottles for rehydrating after their workout.

The latest Government gazette released yesterday has directed that the social distancing measures can be further relaxed through the introduction of a “vaccine bubble”.
We are pleased to inform Members that swimming coaching services at the Happy Valley New Clubhouse Valley Pool and Sha Tin Clubhouse Swimming Pool will recommence on Monday, 26 April 2021. At Happy Valley New Clubhouse, there will be reductions in the sizes of certain group swimming classes in adherence to current government regulations. At Sha Tin Clubhouse, private and semi-private lessons will resume initially but there will be no group classes to avoid overcrowding at the pool side and changing rooms.
In line with the government’s directive, the Fun Pool at Beas River Country Club will be closed with immediate effect. The Main Pool remains open for Members use. Below is the overview of Clubhouses’ swimming pools opening and closure status for easy reference.
In respect of the required timber roof remedial works at the 4/F of the Happy Valley Old Clubhouse, there will be a crane parked at the private road (leading up from Hawthorn Road to the Old Clubhouse Car Park) to facilitate the current phase of the strengthening works.
The Members’ Mobile App will undergo a production testing on Wednesday, 7 April. During this period, the following outlets under The Eighth will be shown as available for reservation as part of the testing. Members are advised to disregard their availability. The opening date of The Eighth will be further announced.

The government announced last night that all fitness centre staff have to undergo another medical test by today and as far as possible, remain at their place of residence until the test results are known.
The Government has announced that most of the existing social distancing measures and restrictions will be extended for another 14 days from today until Wednesday, 31 March 2021. In particular, Members are reminded that in light of the current outbreak in fitness centres; effective from 11 March 2021, the Government has mandated that masks must be worn at all times in gyms except when taking a shower.

In accordance to the government announcement on tightening the compulsory quarantine requirements for people arriving in Hong Kong, the Health Declaration Form has been revised. Members who have just returned to Hong Kong are reminded to observe the new quarantine requirements and those who have been in close contact with any person currently subject to a quarantine order issued by the government shall not visit the Club premises.

We are pleased to inform Members that you may invite other Members as guests in addition to family members at ALL Clubhouses and Moon Koon restaurant at Happy Valley Racecourse with effect from Thursday, 17 December.
Pursuant to the latest government announcement issued on Tuesday, 8 December, all dine-in services at the Clubhouses and Happy Valley Racecourse will only provide take-away services after 6pm (last order at 8:30pm) and all indoor and outdoor sporting facilities at the Clubhouses will be closed from Thursday, 10 December to Wednesday, 23 December.
As the pandemic situation continues to escalate, the Club is stepping up vigilance and has revised the Declaration Form which, among other things, requires non-member guests to provide more details to ensure better traceability in the event of any reported cases on Club premises.
In view of the increasing COVID-19 threat with the high number of local transmissions, the Club will be implementing a staggered work schedule for our staff at the Clubhouses and Happy Valley Racecourse non-race day dining outlets. Such an arrangement is necessary to mitigate against the risks of cross-infection in the event there are confirmed staff or Member cases.
Further to our notice issued on Monday, 23 November night on the closure of the Happy Valley Old and New Clubhouses due to four positive cases; we would like to update Members on our findings of the infected persons’ respective movements (counting 14 days back from the dates they were confirmed as positive). Their movements were established based on CCTV recordings and supplemented by their own recollections.
The Club has been informed by the Table Tennis coach at the Happy Valley Clubhouse Sports Complex late tonight that the Centre for Health Protection has approached and informed him that a female Member he coached has been tested positive for COVID-19 on 18 November.
In respect of the government’s latest directives on COVID-19 social distancing measures, kindly note the following will take effect at all Clubhouses and Happy Valley Racecourse dining outlets from Mon, 16 Nov to Thu, 26 Nov:
The said person last visited the New Clubhouse to inspect the 2/F and 5/F changing rooms during the late hours of the night on 2, 6 and 9 November for around 40 minutes (11.05pm to 11.45pm), just under two hours (10.00pm to 11.50pm) and just under one hour (11.10pm to 12.05am) respectively. The contractor employee has logged, passed temperature screening and worn a face mask throughout the entire duration of the visits. There was no Member in the vicinity on 2, 6 November and a limited number of Members (4 persons) in the vicinity of the 2/F male changing room on 9 November who are being contacted for further information and assistance. Those Club employees who have had any kind of contact with the concerned person will be arranged for Covid-19 testing and self-isolation in the interest of caution.
We apologise for the short notice. Due to emergency repair work that we have just been notified of, the Outdoor Pool (in addition to the indoor pool already closed for maintenance), Gym and Six Furlong Express at The Old Clubhouse will be closed from Sat, 7 Nov until Sat, 21 Nov. There will be work being done on the timber roof at the 4/F and this closure is necessary to assure the safety of the area. Kindly note that Hilltop Gym subscribers are welcome to use the Valley Gym during this period.
Pursuant to previous communication in the September badges regarding to the construction of the new car park in Sha Tin Racecourse, Members are kindly reminded that on racedays the Club will encourage the increased use of Exit 12C from the northbound carriageway of Tolo Highway, which is signed as ‘Penfold Park’. Together with raceday changes to the internal traffic circulation, this arrangement is designed to balance the travel distances between the two Racecourse entrances, providing easier access to the Grandstand II Car Park and the Penfold CarPark in order to reduce raceday congestion at Highway Exit 3.

The outbreak of COVID-19 is now reaching an alarming level globally. With the continuous increase in imported infection cases and in line with the Government’s latest health warnings, the Clubhouses and Racecourses WILL NOT admit any Member, his/her family members or guests who have been outside HK for any period of time in the last 14 days.
Further to our notice yesterday concerning a second Member who tested positive for COVID-19, we have gathered the necessary details of his movement on 23 February based on his utilization and CCTV records, which were further verified by him.

The presence of riders on Kam Tsin Road near Beas River Country Club means it is important for drivers be especially alert. Riding Instructor (Jumping) Melissa Troup tells Roey Gilberg how Members can practise safe driving in the company of horses. The most important point is for the driver to expect the unexpected when approaching or passing a horse on the road. Horses are animals of flight – their survival in the wild is dependent upon their flight reflex to perceived threatening situations. Thus, they will instinctively flee from a threat rather than use their minds to analyse the danger.

They will reopen within 2 hours if the signal is lowered within their normal operating hours with no “extreme condition” announced by the government. We are pleased to let Members know that an enhancement of EV Charging Billing Process will be effective from Thursday, 27 June, 2024. Members will receive an electronic receipt upon completing and stopping an EV charging session, rather than receiving the receipt within 24 hours after usage currently. The enhancement will provide Members with more immediate access to the receipt information to track their charging usage.
